Anawangin Weekend Get Away

"Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer."

And so here I was on another weekend get away with my friends

Destination:  Anawangin Cove, Zambales
Anawangin is a crescent shaped cove in San Antonio Zambales, Philippines.  It is famous for the lush pine forest surrounding its white-sand beach and crystal clear waters.  Rugged mountains add to the mystic landscape of Anawangin Cove.

We stayed here for one night and two days.  And oh boy, it was sure exciting!  We set up our tents, grilled fish, pork and sausage and cook other food like the ever so popular Filipino food ~Sinigang.

We intended to surf again, but the ocean was vey calm and the waves were not high enough.  So instead, we hiked the nearby mountain, walk around and explore the bay and its mini-river.

Night finally came and we formed our small cirlce, played guitar and ukelele and sing our hearts out!  For some reason, other campers brought their very own sound system plus DJ so we ended up dancing at bay.  Cheers!

While the others stayed inside their tent.. ergh.. me and Anne decided to sleep outside!  We were too tired to even get up because come on guys, a mountain hike is still tiring!

We wrapped our trip with one look of Anawangin Cove

and dinner at KFC!  ~after all we are still boys and girls from the city who love fast food chains! >:)

Date of Event:  March 2012
